More Final Exam Help

This is for the Pre-Algebra students.

5. 15 < 5n, n = 3
Substitute the value of n,which is 3, into the inequality.
15 < 5(3)
15 < 15 Answer is FALSE.
9. 2(n – 5) = 8 [A] 9 [B] -9 [C] -1 [D] 1
To solve, you must use the distributive property, so 2 x n and 2 x -5 make the equation 2n-10 = 8.
2n - 10 (+ 10) = 8 (+ 10) Add ten to both sides
2n = 18
2n ÷ 2 = 18 ÷ 2 Divide both sides by 2
n = 9
